Time In Hell

Time in hell: I have had the opportunity to talk with a gentleman that experienced hell. To me this would be a very extreme experience because of what the bible says about hell! This man I was talking to described it as a very dark and hot place, he said it was like his flesh was melted and just hanging on his bones. I was told it was like he could see a light and was climbing to get to it and praying crying out to God to give him another chance. He described it as demons trying to grab him and hold him back from reaching the light. It was a life changing experience for him he said he never went back to the old sinful life he was leading before this experience.

There are many scriptures that describe hell and from them and the testimonies of people who have experienced it; it is not a place I want to be. A few things the bible says about hell;

  • Matthew 13:50 “furnace of fire…weeping and gnashing of teeth”
  • Mark 9:48 “where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched”
  • Revelation 14:10 “he will be tormented with fire and brimstone”
  • Revelation 14:11 “the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever and they have no rest day and night”
  • Revelation 20:14 “This is the second death, the lake of fire”
  • Revelation 20:15 “If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire”
  • Matthew 25:46 and these will depart into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life. John 3:16 For this is the way God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.
  • John 3:36 the one who believes in the Son has eternal life. The one who rejects the Son will not see life, but God’s wrath

Many times I have heard people say things like God is love and would not send us to hell. Do not fall for this lie, if we do not except Jesus and live as the word of God tells us to then he has no choice. God can not lie and is a righteous God. Think of it like a court on earth it is governed by laws that the judge has to follow even when he does not want to. God loves us enough to keep his word and pass a righteous judgment on us. He sent his only son (Jesus) so we would have a way to pay for our sins; all we have to do is except Jesus as our savior. That’s like someone offering to pay your bills or give you a new car, all they ask is you come and get it.

Be careful about the once saved always saved doctrine as well. Matthew 7:21-23 tells us that there will be people rejected that has done miraculous things in God’s name. It tells us we are to do what God the father tells us to do. Many preachers and well meaning Christians will tell you all you have to do is except Jesus but Jesus says we have to do what the father calls us to do as well. Ask God what he wants you to do and then do it.

It is my prayer that God will give everyone that reads this wisdom according to James 1:5 if any of you needs wisdom to know what you should do, you should ask God, and he will give it to you.
